Our Story

Founded in 2002, Hudson is one of the fastest-growing energy solutions providers in North America.

Founded in New York

Hudson Energy Services, LLC was founded in New York as a way to offer residential and commercial customers better energy options.

Expansion into Texas and Illinois

We then expanded into Texas and Illinois. Sales partners use our cutting-edge pricing portal to quickly add customers, spurring further growth.

Acquired by Just Energy

Hudson Energy was acquired by Just Energy for $304 million (USD). The next chapter in our development was underway.

Hudson Connex Launched

We launched Hudson Connex, our full-featured pricing portal, and we then entered the UK electricity market.

We continue to bring better energy options to customers on a worldwide scale thanks to a vast network of brokers and support offices across North America and Europe.

Deborah Merril was appointed to her current role of President and Co-Chief Executive Officer in April 2014, and prior to this, she held the positions of Executive Vice-President, Commercial Sales and Senior Vice-President, Commercial Sales and Marketing. Before April 2010, Ms. Merril was Vice-President of Just Energy Texas, LP.

Prior to this, Mr. Brannan led application development efforts within Direct Energy’s commercial and industrial division. In addition, he held the position of senior consultant at Hitachi Consulting where he defined and developed solutions for deregulated energy, insurance, retail, and manufacturing industries.
